The division does is active in clinical research with the Children’s Oncology Group. There is a senior member of the faculty who serves as the Principal Investigator for the division’s COG affiliate, providing an excellent opportunity to mentor young faculty.
The pediatric cancer program has amazing resources in pediatric neuro-oncology with 2 pediatric neuro-oncologists, pediatric neuroradiology and a pediatric neuropathologist (who is also the reviewer for the Children’s Oncology Group).
The division enjoys strong collaboration with regional partners in Buffalo, Albany and Rochester and is active in the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Thruway Collaboration. The division is supported by a clinical research office, which employes two clinical research associates. The office oversees all of the Children’s Oncology Group activities as well as 2 other consortiums for which the division participates in oncology.
