Dell Children’s Medical Group and The Blood and Cancer Center of Central Texas are seeking a pediatric hematologist to join our expanding team in Austin, Texas. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a team to build and lead efforts in pediatric thromboembolic disease, hemostasis, and benign hematology within a rapidly growing tertiary and academic children’s hospital.
The successful candidate will join a robust multidisciplinary team of physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and allied health professionals providing care for children and adolescents with all forms of blood disorders, including bleeding and clotting disorders, bone marrow failure syndromes, hemoglobinopathies, and other non-malignant hematologic conditions.
The Hematology Program collaborates closely with Cardiology, Surgery, Critical care and General Pediatrics anticoagulation stewardship, and perioperative thrombosis prevention.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive clinical care for children with thrombosis, thrombophilia, and general hematologic disorders
Lead and participate in quality improvement and protocol development in pediatric thrombosis management
Collaborate across disciplines to optimize anticoagulation practices and procedural safety
Engage in education and mentorship of trainees and students
Participate in or lead research and innovation initiatives related to thrombosis, hemostasis, or benign hematology
Program and Division Overview
The Division of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology at Dell Children’s includes 13 faculty physicians who provide comprehensive care for childhood cancers, blood disorders, and bone marrow transplant patients. The division offers subspecialty programs in Sickle Cell Disease, Hemostasis/Thrombosis, Bone Marrow Failure, Vascular Anomalies, and Bone Marrow Transplantation, and is integrated with Dell Medical School for education, clinical research, and academic advancement.

MD or DO degree (required)
Board-certified or board-eligible in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology
Eligible for Texas medical licensure (must be obtained prior to start date)
