The Department of Pediatrics at University of Nebraska Medical Center and Children’s Nebraska in Omaha, Nebraska, is seeking a fellowship-trained Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist with expertise in hematology to join an existing group of 18 practitioners (11 physicians and 7 NPs). Special consideration will be given to candidates with interest or experience in sickle cell program development and coagulation.
This is a unique opportunity, with unlimited potential to advance a strong clinical and academic career in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology in a well-supported clinical practice with a diverse patient population. We are seeking a physician that is BE/BC in pediatric hematology/oncology with outstanding clinical and leadership skills, and who can work well as a member of a team. Responsibilities include Director of the multi-disciplinary Sickle Cell Program, expanding hematology therapeutic trials participation, supporting coagulation programs, inpatient and outpatient clinical care, education of residents and fellows, and development of scholarly professional activities. Funds to develop a research program in conjunction with the support and infrastructure of the Child Health Research Institute are available and dependent on the candidate’s research area and expertise.
The team cares for pediatric patients at Nebraska Medicine and Children’s Nebraska. Our institutions are a Hemophilia Treatment Center, members of COG, and one of 70 NCI-designated cancer centers.
