The Oncology Hospitalist is responsible for the management of oncology inpatient care at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center (SARMC). This acute management of existing hematology/oncology inpatients as well as inpatient consultations from referring physicians at SARMC for hematologic or oncologic related issues. In addition. It entails traditional Internal Medicine scope of practice with added focus on hematology and oncology. The inpatient oncologists will manage necessary chemotherapy in collaboration with the patient’s primary oncologist as well as manage inpatients undergoing /radiation therapy.
