Location: Austin, TX
Dell Children's Medical Group is looking for NP or PA to partner with to provide medical services to pediatric hematology patients in an outpatient setting. This role will primarily work with patients with Sickle Cell Disease and be involved in Sickle Cell multidisciplinary clinics, in addition to a wide range of hematologic diagnoses. Our ideal candidate will have hematology/oncology experience and is comfortable working both independently as well as being part of a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities:
Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview and examination. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies. Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and patient care.
Provides direct treatment and management of health conditions via referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
Counsels and educates patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.
Documents delivery of health care and nursing processes in accordance with specific specialty area standards and network nursing policy

NP Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred.
Drug Enforcement Admin credentialed from the Drug Enforcement Administration preferred.
Education:
Master's degree of Nursing required.
PA Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Required Credential(s):
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.. • Licensed Physician Assistant credentialed from the Texas Medical Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. • Certified Physician Assistant credentialed from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Preferred Credential(s):
• Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA).
Education:
• Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program.
