Job Summary:

WMCHealth's Department of Hematology/Oncology at MidHudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP), Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA), with a passion for oncology to join us in our mission to provide exceptional patient care locally. In this role, the APP will provide a broad range of services for oncology and hematology patients and oversee the daily operations and patient care within the infusion center. They will also be the on-site primary provider for the Cancer Center when the physician is not present.

Responsibilities:

• Delivering direct patient care as part of a collaborative patient care team.
• Seeing patients within the infusion center, writing chemotherapy orders, and providing coordination of care
• Management emergencies, both on-site and via phone, telephone triage and supportive care.
• Serving as a mentor, role model, and resource for nursing and other staff members within the Cancer Center.
• Assisting with policies and procedures, staff education, community outreach, accreditation activities, and maintaining compliance with the survivorship program.

Qualifications / Requirements:

• Candidates must be board certified as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant and possess, or be able to obtain, an applicable New York State license.
• Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in Solid Tumor Oncology, GU, and Thoracic Oncology, although highly motivated new graduates with interests in oncology will be considered and are encouraged to apply. (training will be provided)
• Must possess excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and demonstrate an ability to work autonomously and also as part of a multidisciplinary team.
