Position Summary

To provide clinical assessment, therapeutic intervention and resource mobilization for families and children who have complex psycho-social and emotional needs in a multi-disciplinary pediatric hospital setting. Pediatric social workers provide these services to children 0-18 years of age and their families.

We are seeking a Clinical Social Worker to provide support for patients and families in our Cancer and Blood Disorders Clinic, Minneapolis, specific to Sickle Cell diagnosis. The social worker will partner with the medical team to focus on immediate needs, mental health assessment and referral, long-term coping strategies, and school support, as patients progress through diagnosis and a treatment goals. This is an established role, rooted in health equity and trauma informed care, and a key component of the incredibly knowledgable and resourceful care team.
