Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Division of Oncology in the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of pediatric hematopoietic stem cell transplant and allergy/immunology. Applicants who have completed pediatric allergy/immunology fellowship and a dedicated stem cell transplantation fellowship are preferred.

Teaching responsibilities may include didactic and clinical instruction of junior faculty, residents, post-doctoral fellows, and medical students.

Clinical responsibilities may include inpatient and outpatient care focused on children, adolescents and young adults receiving hematopoietic stem cell transplant, inpatient and outpatient care of patients with immune dysregulatory syndromes, and patients requiring inpatient admission to the Immunology service at the Philadelphia University City Hospital. The candidate will also play an active role in training clinical fellows in the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and Allergy/Immunology programs in stem cell transplantation methodologies and approaches to curative therapies in patients with immune deficiency/dysregulation. The candidate should have at least two years of experience as an attending physician after completion of fellowship training. The ideal candidate will have experience in performing stem cell transplant for both malignant and non-malignant disorders and would specifically be interested in developing a clinical focus in curative therapies for patients with primary immunodeficiency and immune dysregulatory disorders.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include expanding translational and clinical research efforts in Hematopoietic Cell Transplant for patients with primary immunodeficiency and immune dysregulatory disorders. The successful applicant will be academically productive, collaborative, and able to expand our already robust research enterprise. The successful candidate must have an established record of peer-reviewed scholarship. Experience in working with large institutional and multicenter transplant datasets to conduct outcomes research and designing innovative clinical trials of novel stem cell transplant approaches is preferred.

This position will be based in the Cell Therapy and Transplant Section in the Division of Oncology, but also has the potential for joint privileges in the Division of Immunology. We are looking for applicants with experience in taking care of immune deficiency and dysregulation patients longitudinally, and in taking care of these and other patients undergoing stem cell transplantation. Applicants should have the skillset and interest in helping to build our Program for Integrated Immunodeficiency and Cellular Therapy by leading institutional and national efforts to design the next generation of cellular therapies for patients with primary immune deficiency and dysregulation syndromes.

Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. Board-certified/Board-eligible in pediatric hematology/oncology or pediatric allergy/immunology.
