Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution, and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, located in downtown Chicago, invites applications for the position of Head and Neck Medical Oncologist clinical faculty.

The Division of Hematology, Oncology and Cell Therapy in the Department of Medicine at Rush University Medical Center / Rush University Cancer Center is recruiting a Head and Neck Medical Oncologist, at the assistant, associate, or professor level. Qualified candidates should have formal clinical fellowship training in hematology/oncology with board certification/eligibility, and/or significant clinical experience in hematology oncology with strong interest in clinical/translational research, and a strong commitment to quality patient care and patient satisfaction. In addition to clinical responsibilities as an attending physician at Rush University Medical Center, applicants are expected to participate in the education of medical students, residents and fellows and active research initiatives.

The Head and Neck multidisciplinary cancer team is a highly subspecialized, comprised of dedicated head and neck surgeons, reconstructive specialists, base of the skull/sinus surgeons, radiation oncology, and a head and neck speech pathologist. This position adds to our current full-time head and neck oncologist.

Our new, state-of-the-art Cancer Center facility in Chicago will serve as a hub for services throughout our health system. Our core programs are supported by multi-disciplinary teams from hematology, medical oncology, surgical oncology, radiation oncology, pathology, radiology, research and bioinformatics, clinical operations, and dedicated clinical and support staff, including patient navigators. This structure allows specialists to consult and see patients based on tumor type or molecular and genomic signatures, combining our outstanding multidisciplinary approach with a data infrastructure that supports this patient-centered care. This integration enables us to make a greater commitment to research, dramatically scaling the effectiveness of clinical trials, and enabling translational research that moves bench to bedside, and bedside to bench.
