Mayo Clinic is ranked as the best hospital in the nation by U.S. News and World Report and the 2022 best hospital in the world by Newsweek. We are the largest integrated, not-for-profit medical group practice in the world with over 4,800 physicians and scientists across all locations working in a unique environment that brings together the best in patient care, groundbreaking research and innovative medical education.

Mayo Clinic Children’s Center is a multidisciplinary group practice that focuses on providing comprehensive, high quality, compassionate medical and surgical care to children and adolescents. The Center includes more than 260 physicians with pediatric specialty expertise who offer integrated care in over 70 specialty programs and clinics to children and adolescents from 50 states and over 70 countries around the world each year, inspiring hope and providing healing. Mayo Clinic Children's Center in Rochester is ranked the No. 1 hospital in Minnesota, and the five-state region of Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin, according to U.S. News & World Report's 2021–2022 "Best Children's Hospitals" rankings. It is nationally ranked by U.S. News & World Report in all 10 pediatric specialties that are evaluated.

Diversity and inclusion are integral to Mayo Clinic's mission to provide excellent, culturally relevant care in a welcoming environment to patients from a wide variety of backgrounds. We aim to diversify our workforce to represent the communities we serve and continue to create an inclusive environment where differences are valued, allowing individuals to achieve and contribute to their fullest potential. This commitment is woven into the fabric of Mayo Clinic — we embrace these values as we serve our patients, employees, students, and communities.

Mayo Clinic offers a highly competitive, comprehensive benefits package that includes plenty of options for medical, dental and vision care; flexible spending accounts; life insurance; short and long term disability coverage; generous time away, travel and professional expense allowances; and more! We are proud to be among the few U.S. companies to provide a pension benefit at no cost to employees plus you can add the Mayo 403(b) plan which features an employer match.

The Department of Pediatric & Adolescent Medicine and the Mayo Clinic Children’s Center are seeking a Pediatric Neuro-Oncologist to join the growing Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.  Mayo Clinic is an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center and Comprehensive Hemophilia Treatment center with 10 pediatric hematologist/oncologists, four nurse practitioners, and eight specialty nurses.  The Neuro-Oncology team currently has one pediatric neuro-oncologist and one nurse practitioner who work closely with brain-tumor specialists in neurology, neurosurgery, neuroradiology, and radiation oncology to provide world-class care to children. Our Division sees approximately 200 new patients a year, including an average of 80 children with brain tumors each year.

As a member of the outpatient Pediatric Oncology team, the Neuro-Oncologist would focus on the care of children with brain tumors while occasionally providing cross coverage for established patients with solid tumors. All physicians in the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology share responsibility for the care of children with cancer, blood disorders, and those undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplants within the Mayo Clinic Hospital. The Neuro-Oncologist would be part of our educational mission and provide teaching for students, residents, and fellows.  In additional to clinical duties, the ideal candidate will be an eager investigators who participated in clinical research and partners with ongoing discovery and translational studies across the institution. As a member of the Mayo Clinic Cancer Center, the Neuro-Oncologist would regularly interact with and collaborate with pediatric and adult cancer care teams to improve patient care and advance knowledge through research. Our group is a full member of the Children’s Oncology Group and is a COG-approved hematopoietic stem cell transplantation center. Academic rank in the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine will be granted commensurate with experience.   Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible in pediatric hematology/oncology with outstanding clinical and teaching skills, and experience in clinical or translational research.  Minimum academic rank of Assistant Professor is preferred. Candidates with dedicated training in pediatric neuro-oncology are preferred.

Mayo Clinic is located in the heart of downtown Rochester, Minnesota, a vibrant, friendly city that provides a highly livable environment for more than 34,000 Mayo staff and students. The city is consistently ranked among the best places to live in the United States because of its affordable cost of living, healthy lifestyle, excellent school systems and exceptionally high quality of life.
