Major/Essential Functions

The School of Medicine Pediatrics Department at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) invites applicants for faculty positions at the Assistant/Associate level.  Rank and salary are dependent upon qualifications and experience.

Junior faculty position in pediatric cancer developmental therapeutics:
The Cancer Center of the TTUHSC School of Medicine  (http://cancer.TTUHSC.edu) is recruiting to an Assistant Professor level, tenure-track position in the field of pediatric cancer developmental therapeutics. The new faculty member will be supported by and be a member of the Texas Regional Excellence in Cancer (TREC) Developmental Therapeutics Center at TTUHSC funded by the Cancer Prevention & Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT). TREC faculty carry out translational and clinical research in cancer drug development and are funded by grants from CPRIT, the National Cancer Institute, Department of Defense, and foundations. TREC faculty are supported by core resources for pharmacology, cancer animal models, a robust cancer biobank, and an early-phase clinical trial consortium (www.SPONC.org). The Children’s Oncology Group Childhood Cancer Repository (www.COGcell.org) located at TTUHSC provides patient-derived cell lines and xenografts to investigators in 28 countries.  Examples of publications from TREC faculty: PMID: 31484706; PMID: 32291317; PMID: 32409685; PMID: 34408079.

Rank and salary are dependent upon qualifications and experience. Preference for this position will be given to pediatric oncology physician-scientists; clinical service time will be strictly limited. The primary appointment will be in an appropriate department in the School of Medicine with a concurrent appointment in the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences to enable the recruiting of excellent graduate students from the Biomedical Sciences and Biotechnology graduate programs.  Salary and lab set-up packages are nationally competitive.
