The neuro-oncology program at Saint Louis Children's Hospital (SLCH) is currently seeking applications for the 2022-2023 academic year. This non-ACGME accredited clinical fellowship is designed to allow individuals who have completed hematology/oncology fellowship training and are seeking training in pediatric neuro-oncology, an additional year to develop expertise in the management of pediatric brain and spinal cord tumors.  The program is one of the largest brain tumor programs in North America, and is currently a member of the Pediatric Pacific Neuro-Oncology Consortium (PNOC). Furthermore, the pediatric neurosurgery and neurology programs are ranked seventh in the nation as per the latest US world and news report.

In addition to the rigorous clinical training the fellow will receive, an emphasis is placed on understanding the molecular biology of brain tumors and designing early-phase clinical trials.  Moreover, the fellow will have an opportunity to be involved in the care of international patients who get referred for consultation/treatment at our program, in addition to being involved in the neuro-oncology tumor board with several low-middle income countries. The fellow will work very closely with all members of the neuro-oncology team, which includes: six faculty, two nurse practitioners, three clinical coordinators, three research coordinators and one social worker. Lastly, excellent subspecialty support exits in radiation oncology, neuro-pathology, neuro-radiology, neurology and rehabilitation medicine, allowing for a true multi-disciplinary experience.

To be considered for this position, the candidate will need to have successfully completed an ACGME accredited pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship by July 1, 2022.
