Children’s Minnesota, the 10th largest Children’s Hospital in North America is looking for a Pediatric Hematologist to join our established and growing program. We are the largest pediatric cancer and blood disorders program in the Upper Midwest, caring for more than 55 percent of children diagnosed with cancer or blood disorders in Minnesota, and 70 percent of those diagnosed in the Twin Cities.

We provide care at two hospital sites in the Twin Cities and infusion centers in central Minnesota and western Wisconsin. Our pediatric cancer and blood disorders program is currently composed of over 200 dedicated professionals including 17 physicians, 13 nurse practitioners, nurses, case managers, pharmacists, rehabilitation therapists, dieticians, social workers, child life experts, interpreters, home care and hospice specialists.

Our Blood Disorders Program specifically has 5 dedicated Hematologists, 2 Hematology NP’s and 6 Hematology RNs. We have a strong clinical trial program with a dedicated hematology research nurse and clinical research assistant. We are the site of the largest pediatric HTC in the State with greater than 250 new patients per year. We also have a nationally recognized Hemoglobinopathy program that treats 85% of children and teens in Minnesota and provides consultation to health care providers throughout the region. Lastly, we are one of only a few centers in the country dedicated to treating children with all types of vascular anomalies.

The candidate should be board eligible/certified in pediatric hematology/oncology from the American Board of Pediatrics or have an International equivalent certificate. Experience in Vascular Anomalies is preferred although not required. Fellows completing their training with additional training in hematology are also encouraged to apply.

Children’s Hospitals and Clinics is a teaching hospital to medical students, residents and fellows from the University of Minnesota and Mayo Clinic. Academic inquiry and research are highly valued, but are not prerequisites for members of the section.

Children’s of Minnesota champions the health needs of children and families and aspires to be every family’s essential partner in raising healthier children.  Our values reflect the behaviors that are truly important to us as an organization: Kids First; Listen, Really Listen; Own Outcomes; Join Together and Be Remarkable.

About Children's Minnesota
Children’s Minnesota is the seventh largest pediatric health system in the United States and the only health system in Minnesota to provide care exclusively to children, from before birth through young adulthood. An independent and not-for-profit system since 1924, Children’s serves kids throughout the Upper Midwest at two free-standing hospitals, 12 primary and specialty care clinics and six rehabilitation sites. Additionally, Children’s is Minnesota's only Level I pediatric trauma center inside a hospital dedicated solely to children. In 2018 Children’s Minnesota was verified as a Level I Children’s Surgery Center by the American College of Surgeons. Children’s maintains its longstanding commitment to the community to improve children’s health by providing high-quality, family-centered pediatric services and advancing those efforts through research and education. This work is made possible in large part by generous philanthropic and volunteer support from individuals and organizations throughout the state and region. An award-winning health system, Children’s received Magnet® recognition from The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) in 2018 and is regularly ranked by U.S. News & World Report as a top children’s hospital.
