The Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology/BMT at the Medical College of Wisconsin is recruiting a Pediatric Leukemia Lymphoma oncologist with a clinical or translational research focus to join our faculty.
Our well established, academic program in Hematology/Oncology/BMT in the Department of Pediatrics at the Medical College of Wisconsin, Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin is currently recruiting faculty who are motivated to develop their careers in an academic medical setting. We are comprised of a stable, energetic group of faculty physicians, fellows, nurse practitioners and research faculty with a strong commitment to clinical care, teaching, and research.
The Pediatric Cancer Program at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, in Milwaukee, is one of the premiere childhood cancer and hematology programs in the Midwest, serving infants, children, adolescents and young adults with cancer and blood disorders. Our MACC Fund Center at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin provides care for the majority of children with cancer in the state. We have a 24-bed inpatient unit, an outpatient clinic, and a day hospital staffed by more than 20 pediatric hematologist-oncologists, 7 Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Fellows, and a BMT Fellow. We have been the highest COG enroller in the Midwest, an institutional member of several phase 1 consortia (including TACL), and have 20-30 investigator-initiated early phase clinical trials open for accrual. A large Clinical Trials Office, a Clinical and Translational Science Institute, a Genomics Sciences & Precision Medicine Center, an Institutional Cancer Center, a vibrant pediatric immunotherapy program, and a dedicated cohort of PhD scientists support our investigators. The Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research (CIBMTR) is located on our campus and opportunities for collaboration and research. We are dedicated to excellent patient care and expanding therapeutic opportunities through early phase clinical trials.
MCW was founded in 1893 to serve the people of Wisconsin and is a large private medical school that fosters academic and clinical excellence and offers MD as well as graduate degrees in health sciences. MCW has more than 5000 full time equivalent faculty and staff.
Candidates should be board certified or eligible in Hematology/Oncology. Experience as a practicing oncologist is preferred by not required. Additionally, candidates should have experience in conducting laboratory based or translational research in pediatric oncology. Candidates will be expected to have or to develop an externally funded research program.
