UF Health Regional Physicians, Hematology/Oncology Specialty with The Studer Family Children's Hospital at Ascension Sacred Heart in Pensacola, Florida seeks a Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist. While this physician will be expected to care for all types of patients, he or she should have an interest in benign hematology. The program manages all types of pediatric hematology patients, including those with sickle cell disease, bleeding and thrombotic disorders, anemias, and other hematology disorders. The Hematology/Oncology Specialty seeks to grow the benign hematology research program although through the work of clinical care. The Division also has an active oncology program and is a member of Children’s Oncology Group (COG). There are about 40 new oncology patients diagnosed each year.
The Studer Family Children’s Hospital celebrated its 50th year in 2019 with the opening of a new Children’s Hospital. As a component of the new hospital, a 9 bed Hematology/Oncology Unit is being developed and is expected to open in late 2020. There is a full complement of pediatric subspecialties and support programs. Through UF Health and Ascension Sacred Heart, we are staying on the leading edge of children's healthcare.
