The section of pediatric stem cell transplantation and cellular therapy at the Children’s Cancer Hospital, MD Anderson Cancer Center is currently recruiting a clinical fellow starting July 1st 2019. The Pediatric SCT-CT fellowship is structured to provide clinical training in the field of pediatric hematopoietic stem cell transplantation including autologous, allogeneic stem cell transplantation and cellular therapy. The clinical fellow will be directly involved in the pre transplant/cellular therapy workup, donor search, stem cell harvest (leukapheresis, bone marrow and peripheral blood stem cell collection), stem cell and immune effector cell therapy infusions. The fellow will participate in patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings under the supervision of faculty members. The fellow is expected to work collaboratively with inter-disciplinary staff in the inpatient and outpatient settings. The pediatric stem cell transplantation and cellular therapy program at MD Anderson Cancer Center has multiple active clinical trials (local, national and international trials). The clinical fellow will be expected to participate in clinical research activities, grand rounds, research seminars, weekly institutional chimeric antigen receptor T cell therapy toxicity (CARTOX) committee meetings and weekly patient care meetings. MD Anderson Cancer Center if the first standalone accredited program for Immune Effector Cells by the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT).
Board certification in general pediatrics is recommended.
Graduate or plan to graduate from pediatric hematology and oncology or pediatric allergy immunology fellowship program to become board- eligible or board certified in the subspecialty.
